The History of the Emporio MP Brand

what God has joined together,
man does not separate

Everyone who learns about the story is very moved and says it would make a book, a movie, a series, a miniseries, or even a soap opera…

Santos, May 2023.

The year was 1991. More precisely, the end of 1991. Patricia and Marcos met in December and got married 7 months later. They were very much in love with each other, they loved each other deeply, but at the same time, they were very young and immature. When they got married, Patricia was 21 and Marcos was 25 years old.

They were married for almost seven years. They had no children and, unfortunately, separated in 1998.

Patricia claims she never stopped thinking and praying for Marcos, not for a single day of her life, and always included the letter "G," Marcos' last name, in her signature for over two decades, even after reverting to using her maiden name.

Deep down, Patricia knew they would meet again someday… "Yes, I knew that inside, but I never told anyone."

Throughout their marriage, Marcos was always a businessman, but he worked in a different field.

It was love at first sight, for the second time.

Patricia hadn't seen her first husband and the love of her life since February 1998.

"I hadn't heard from him in a long time, I really didn't know anything about him other than that he lived in São Paulo. I didn't even know his social media accounts, nothing, absolutely nothing, REALLY!" Marcos claims the same thing.

Time passed, and passed, and passed...

And then, out of nowhere, Marcos appears, more than 22 years later (twenty-two!), in a shop on the street where Patrícia lives, stopping for a snack.

Marcos was in Santos for work, and Patrícia was in the same shop, in line, to buy cream puffs…

They looked at each other and recognized each other instantly! Marcos looked very different. Patricia? Not so much, they say... haha

See you in twenty years

The couple hugged, cried a lot, and could barely speak… It was like a scene from a movie for those who watched it… and were enchanted!

With each glance, they both knew exactly what they wanted: for everything to go back to how it was the first time!

And then, in a short time, they returned and were never separated again...

The funny thing is that they always thought about each other during all this time. "In fact, every day of my life, I always knew that I would meet him in the future, I don't know why, but yes, I had that feeling. I always signed, and continue to sign for all these more than 22 years, the end of my signature with his last name: the letter 'G'," claims Patrícia.

Marcos, for his part, confessed that there hadn't been a single day that he hadn't thought about her. And what's even more unusual: on the day they separated, at the courthouse, back in 1998, as Marcos said goodbye and went down the stairs, he thought aloud: "Goodbye Patricia. See you in 20 years."

It's chilling, isn't it?!

Today, the couple lives very well and under God's protection, through his son Jesus Christ. They are inseparable, except for work-related matters. They are deeply in love with each other, even more so than in their first marriage. "season".

If he wanted to do something worthwhile, and wanted to feel satisfaction from his work, he would have to create something to dazzle women...

And so began the story of the sale of bags & clutches... O ano era 1996.

And after more than 25 years working in the fashion market, Marcos created EMPORIO MP.

This name comes from the fact that the couple met in a "depot" next to Patricia's house, hence the initials "MP," which are their names. In the brand's logo, instead of the letter "O" at the end of the word EMPORIO, a bag with a heart inside was placed, symbolizing the couple's love for handbags, fashion, and the love between them...

Marcos has been working in the fashion industry for over 25 years, creating bags and clutches, having even created pieces for some nationally renowned brands.

Well, actually, it started a long time ago. They explain.

During the couple's marriage, Marcos worked in other fields. However, he wanted to create something new and asked Patrícia what to do to change his business. That's when Patrícia suggested:

"If I wanted to do something worthwhile and feel satisfied with my work, I would have to create something to dazzle women..."

Despite their separation in 1998, Marcos continued with the wholesale bag business. And the years went by...

For some time now, it has served the best fashion houses and premium stores throughout Brazil, participating in trade shows such as Minas Trend, Salão Casamoda, Feira TM Showroom, etc.

"Marcos, you have to tell your story to the world!"

To our most delightful surprise, all the clients, now more than that, friends, whom Marcos visits and tells this whole story to—from the creation of the new company, how he returned to Patricia, how things went back to the way they were meant to be—all get very emotional...

And, likewise, they all unanimously say:

"Marcos, you have to tell your story to the world, you have to write a book, make a movie, something! This story is too beautiful, it's a miracle from God for your lives!" "Wow! That's amazing! I'm speechless!"

The couple believes that God performed this amazing miracle in their lives, and yes, they are making it public so that this beautiful love story can inspire and impact many, many other lives.

This is a testament to faith, to the union that was forged, thanks to God's love in their lives and to this company.

Emporio MP is a company entirely devoted to God. Our dear Father, our Almighty God, is the one who guides our lives and the life of this company, so blessed by Him! All honor and glory for all our achievements should be given to Him!

And in the year that the couple would have celebrated their 32nd wedding anniversary, they got married again!

So, is this, or isn't it, a story worthy of a book, a film, a miniseries, or rather, isn't it a fantastic story?
